A woman who says JD.com founder Richard Liu mistreated her in Minneapolis is suing the Chinese billionaire and his firm.
Liu was detained Aug. 31 at Minneapolis on suspicion of felony rape and released within hours. He was attending a residency as part of their University of Minnesota’s doctor of business management China program.
Prosecutors announced in December that Liu would not face criminal charges since they were not able to establish his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The attorneys of liu said in the time that his arrest has been based on a false claim.
The Associated Press doesn’t generally name alleged victims of sexual assault with their approval. Jingyao Liu’s attorney Wil Florin stated she had consented to let her name to be utilized.
