This Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) roundup looks at recent major news about the company.

Even before this year’s MacBook Pro enters market, leaks have started emerging about what is likely to be in next year’s MacBook Pro device. It turns out Apple is mulling giving the 2017 MacBook more memory. Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple analyst at KGI Securities, also believes next year’s MacBook will cost less as Apple tries to stay competitive in the notebook marketplace.

While Apple roundup shows a more improved and a less costly MacBook is in the works, the company cannot confirm the rumors. Instead, Apple’s design chiefJonyIve says a touchscreen MacBook Pro is not under consideration, at least, not at the moment. Offering of Touch Bar above the keyboard in MacBook Pro has triggered rumors that perhaps Apple could be moving gradually a full touchscreen in the future generation MacBook.

According to Ive, touchscreen in MacBook is an idea Apple that has considered but later abandoned as it didn’t look ideal for the device. However, Phil Schiller head of global marketing Phil Schiller revealed that they were seeing strong early demand for coming MacBook going by online orders.

Apple roundup hints at AR in driving technology

Apple is reportedly working on self-driving technology with a dose of augmented reality. Kuo claims that Apple could first test its driving technology in iPhone and Mac before it brings it to the actual car market. It is for the purposes of enabling testing of the technology on smaller devices such as the iPhone that Apple might give its driving technology an element of augmented reality.

Apple grabs of 104% of smartphone profits

Apple swept 104% of smartphone profits in 3Q16 thanks to troubles with Samsung’s rival product Galaxy Note 7. Samsung is pulling Note 7 from the market over explosion fears and has also discontinued its product. The absence of Note 7 reduced competition for the iPhone in the high-end smartphone market.

Apple roundup also hint the company will try to catch with the competition by producing an iPhone that can be charged wirelessly. Apple stock is up nearly 5% so far this year.
